On 1 June, International Children's Day, the Stolen Childhood exhibition opened. The memory of Jewish children who became victims of crimes in the past and a reminder of the fate of children in Ukraine during Russian aggression is the leitmotif of the Stolen Childhood exhibition, which opened today at the Living Memory exhibition centre. The exhibition features documents and items from the Levitas archive, as well as works by contemporary Ukrainian artists Mykhailo Alekseenko and Yulia Belyaeva.
At the opening of the exhibition, Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostyslav Karandieiev, Permanent Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Tim Pranghe, and Head of the Babyn Yar Reserve Roza Tapanova stressed the importance of working together to preserve the memory of the past and to punish those responsible for contemporary crimes against children.
The exhibition project was implemented by Babyn Yar with the support of the German Embassy in Ukraine and with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The exhibition will run until June 2024.
